"Amazing Buddha Tours is THE best way to experience northeastern India. If you want to experience India, then please, please, please consider experiencing it by motorbike. I took the risk and it was worth it. It is possible to arrive in India, by your own motorbike and make your way up into The Himalaya. People who do this usually take many months to do such a thing as getting lost and breaking down are usually common events in India. For myself, I was traveling alone and had only a short time for this exploring. I decided to hire Amazing Buddha Tours and my trip was amazing. First of all, they provided me with a solid motorbike, ready for a long journey. The Royal Enfield is a great machine. And second, my guide, Ani, was the best. I was matched by four other motorbikes carrying five Kiwis total. The five of us set out from Kolkata and headed for the mountains with a chase vehicle bringing up the rear. It was obvious that our guide, Ani, was very familiar with the territory and his English communication was wonderfully fluent. He understood our needs and served as our ambassador with the locals. We were far from the beaten tourist path and had an amazing time. There were seven motorcycles in our group, a lot of rough roads and intense elevation changes throughout the journey. Bike breakdowns were frequent but minimized by the on-hand mechanic. Only once were we forced to visit a mechanic shop for a while to get us back on track. We spent our nights in wonderful guest houses all along the way. All were accommodating and most served great food. Our days were spent riding through some of the most epic scenery i have ever seen. Nothing compares to The Himalaya and Ani took us straight into them. I would recommend to anyone to explore India by motorbike.
